President's Message
Welcome to the 45th season of the Oneida
Area Arts Council. I am not the candidate for change. Everything on our stage
will stay the same. We will continue to provide consistently great programming
for this area at an affordable price. Let’s see Obama and John match that.
As President, I only ask a couple of things of our constant subscribers.
Enjoy the shows, use your seats, and bring friends. I come from behind the
curtain and every professional that graces our stage enjoys the enthusiasm
from our audience. But I can tell you that there would be nothing to compare
to the thrill of telling a performer that we have a full house. You represent
our community well because the talent is always willing to come back.
This season will be five great nights of variety and entertainment. We also
look forward to future seasons where we can bring you Broadway touring shows,
famous veterans that might will surprise you with greatness, fresh faces
so one day you can sit back and say ”I saw them on little old OHS stage,”
surprising artists that are sooooo good that bring instantaneous standing
ovations, and our “house band” the CNY Winds.
We have expanded our interests to help younger area performers that are involved
in Vicki Buda’s exciting endeavors. Their involvement in the arts at a young
age could blossom to last a lifetime.
You are a large part of the Arts Council success. If some shows don’t fit
into your plans share the seat with someone who will enjoy what we offer.
Empty seats don’t generate laughs or applause. Please patronize our underwriters’
and advertisers’ businesses and thank them for supporting us. Please get
a friend or relative to buy tickets and come with you to the shows. And finally,
consider joining us as a member of our governing board. We always need more
volunteers to make this giant effort look so effortless.
Lastly, I hope sometime along the way you get a chance to thank Tom Donegan
for his years of keeping the Arts alive in the Oneida area. He kept
the flame alive and will continue as the voice of OAAC.
Enjoy the season and may God bless.
